Women Build

Women Build is an initiative of Habitat for Humanity International which aims to empower women to take action against poverty housing conditions in their own communities.  Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake participates in Women Build and has three objectives:

1. Raise awareness among women of the problem of sub-standard housing in Howard County, Anne Arundel County, Baltimore County and Baltimore City
2. Raise funds to support Women Build
3. Encourage women to volunteer to physically build designated Women Build homes

Becoming a Women Build Member

The simplest way to show support for Women Build is by becoming a “Member” of Women Build.  The purpose of the membership program is to raise funds and awareness for Women Build.  This program is also a gateway to future involvement for members.  Women become members by making a one-time gift of at least $30, which can be done by check or online.

In return for your financial contribution Women Build Members receive a Member Packet containing:

• A 2013 National Women Build t-shirt
• Habitat Chesapeake supporter decal
• Monthly email newsletter
• Invitations to Women Build events

How to Help Women Get Involved

The fastest way to become a member and learn more about how to support Women Build is by clicking on the “Become a Member” button to enter your contribution of at least $30.  You’ll receive your Member Packet in the mail shortly after joining.  Please consider sharing your decision with your online social networks and send them the link to join too!
