To call attention to the need for better shelter around the world.
-
To let it be known that affordable, adequate housing should be a priority everywhere.
-
To change the systems, policies and attitudes that contribute to poverty housing – and actively involve partners in solutions.
This year, World Habitat day will be celebrated on Monday, October 1. The theme, Many Homes, One Community, is designed to call attention to the importance of the need for adequate housing in our neighborhoods.
To kick off World Habitat Day in the Greater Chesapeake region, Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake is hosting a contest and needs your submissions! This contest offers you the chance to share your stories and win some really awesome prizes.
Here’s the fun part…
Remember: Don’t limit your answers to things you build with hammers and nails. Think outside the box!
To participate, simply submit your story (approximately 300 words) and a picture of yourself. Entries must be submitted by Wednesday, 9/26 to contest@habitatchesapeake.org. Please include your name, email address and phone number.
Don’t wait - send your story today!
